Business owners, residents, and other stakeholders have united behind a non-profit organisation called Siti: The Stellenbosch Improvement and Transformation Initiative.
As a Special Ratings Areas (or SRA), Siti collects a levy from property owners based on the municipal values of their properties within the “middedorp” to improve the physical and social environment of central Stellenbosch.
OUR VISION
A dynamic business and investment neighbourhood and a safe, caring community that creatively addresses pressing social challenges.
OUR MISION
To improve safety and cleanliness, drive economic opportunities, enhance social well-being, and ensure environmental sustainability for everyone connected to Stellenbosch.
FUNDING
Funded through a modest levy on municipal rates contributed by local property owners, SITI supports and manages essential public realm services such as enhanced security, proactive urban management, and targeted social development initiatives. Additionally, SITI actively promotes Stellenbosch as the premier visitor destination and cultural heart of the Winelands.
MANAGEMENT
Guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and supported by community stakeholders, SITI operates independently yet collaboratively with the Stellenbosch Municipality, ensuring transparent governance and effective oversight.
